Thrissur
Located in the south-west of India, Thrissur is known as the cultural capital of Kerala. It is home to many temples and festivals and is an important city within the state.

Thrissur began as a fortified city and has slowly expanded over time. At its centre stands Vadakkumnatha Temple, an important monument within the city. It is the central landmark in Thrissur's most famous festival: Thrissur Pooram.

The city lies 12km inland and lies between the Kole wetlands and the Killannoor mountains. One of its most famous attractions is the Anthirapilly waterfalls, known as the 'Niagra Falls of India'.

This year, BSC and March Students are collaborating once again, this time conducting our research in Thrissur, Kerala, South India. This January 2025, we will travel to Thrissur and conduct our fieldwork and data collection.
