Proposals
Below are the catalyst proposals developed in response to the findings of our research. Compiled of Bsc 3 and MArch 2 works, the proposals were developped under 4 categories; Urban Form and Ecology, Urban Form and Mobility, Urban Form and Security and Urban Form and Development.
01. Urban Form and Ecology
"Increasing population and pollution of natural resources, globalisation and urban development have a negative impact on ecology that is predicted to further increase if preventative actions are not in place. The protection of natural resources is necessary to reduce pollution and restrict sprawl of urban development"
02. Urban Form and Mobility
"Mobility is greatly affected by the increasing population, urban sprawl
and urban development ... there is a need to prioritise equal access to
public transport networks as well as improving walkable and cycling routes,
which can greatly improve mental and physical health."
03. Urban Form and Security
“Social security is affected by the fragmentation of urban development,
urban sprawl, increasing population and globalisation. To protect
traditional cultural customs and improve social cohesion and
inclusivity within the city needs to be increased "
04. Urban Form and Development
“Urban development is highly influenced by the increasing
population and globalisation. The analysis presents that the continuous
leapfrog development will continue to affect vulnerable groups and increase
the gap between socioeconomic groups, in economic security, opportunity and access to resources"
